Hello!

My name is Claire (Linyi) Li - Welcome to my portfolio!

I see myself as a multi-disciplinary designer passionate about understanding users' needs and crafting digital delights by merging aesthetics and functionality. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Global Business and Digital Arts at the University of Waterloo. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s in Information at the University of Toronto, with a concentration in User Experience Design. With five years of academic experience in the UX design field, I have found myself increasingly drawn to the mission of creating meaningful and impactful user experiences that improve people's lives and bridge the gap between technology and human interaction.

The first secret of design is noticing.” -- Tony Fadell

This quote keeps inspiring me along my design journey. As an INFJ, I have always been curious about the nuances of human behavior and emotion—whether it's external influences or internal changes, a slight variation can have a significant impact on one’s being. When I was younger, I couldn't explain the logic behind people's behaviors through any concept. But after stepping into the field of UX, I learned to derive qualitative insights from large amounts of quantitative data. It was no longer blind contemplation, but solving the situations I observed through a design perspective. For me, UX design is a free space that allows me to inhale and exhale: continuously using critical thinking to perceive people and things and combining creative research methods to present empathizing solutions.

Meanwhile, I am also passionate about introspection. I have a deep interest in astrology, tarot, and meditation, and I enjoy documenting my life through vlogs and plogs.

Feel free to drop me a message.

I’m excited to chat about anything :)
